Going to Jew school is really paying off this year! SO many days off. I didn't have school Thursday or Friday and won't next week either.. YAYAY! Which gives me time to do a follow up on my last blog!
SO, what worked and what didnt...
To elaborate, the egg whites/mayo/olive oil mask was nice... Don't really know if it made a huge difference but my face felt smooth after I used it. It wasn't too moisturizing though.
The coconut milk smells great and is fun to use... A little messy. My hair feels nice and conditioned when I rinse it out but I can't tell if it is helping me in the long run to be honest. I haven't tried it on my body yet... I think next time I will buy coconut oil rather than milk, because the milk has a very thin consistency and you have to mix it with oil or let it evaporate for it to really be of good use.
The chamomile tea didn't really work out, I tried it once. Are you supposed to do it more than once or should it work on the first time?? Not really sure...
Since my hair color was annoying me, I put in a few highlights myself yesterday. It was scary because I've never highlighted my hair before!
I used Feria highlighting kit in C65 or caramel blonde.
Without dying it, I have dark blonde/light blonde hair. Its basically a dark gold color. On the box it says the highlights are meant for "medium to dark brown" hair. Since I wanted a natural look, not a tacky look like on the box, I decided to go for that category. Ew if a dark brunette put that shit on her hair it would look straight up bad...
It gave me a nice gold color and I'm pretty happy with the results. I'm even thinking of adding some more. Maybe I'll post some pics later..
Some Tips:
-I barely used half the bottle, don't be afraid to thoroughly drench the chosen strands with the dye.
-Mix up the sizes of your highlights. Stick to generally smaller portions of hair but don't be afraid to do different sizes all around. After all, if they were naturally sun made they would not all come out symmetrical.
-Focus the highlights around your face.
-Less is more. Start with a little because you can always add more but you can't take away..
Hopefully some of that was helpful... Happy dying! :P

"Mash, bananas! Mash mash bananas!"
Had lots of days off last week due to everyone's favorite holiday, Rosh Hashanah! Spent lots of delicious time reading and taking out books about beauty from the library. Definitely one of my favorite subjects to read up on, especially considering I still have much to learn! Learned some cool tricks that I have tried, and will try. What better way to have a little spa day than to whip it up from your own kitchen!
Did an egg whites, mayo, and little bit of olive oil mask for the face. And yes, it was tightening and made my face temporarily smooth as... a baby's butt?
Cutting a kiwi in half and massaging over skin is a great exfoliant, and followed nicely by an avocado and banana mask, which can be very moisturizing.
I bought some coconut milk to use.. I've heard its good for skin and hair. I'll mix some of it with a little oil, heat it up, and massage in to scalp and on my body. I''ll let you know how that works out!
Tomorrow I might try putting chamomile tea in my hair and sitting in the sun to lighten it, I've heard that works. I've tried lemons and other crap, but never chamomile. Hoping it could work, because I'm not digging the shade many of my friends like to call "orangey blonde" that's currently taking over my head...
Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

Operation: GET OVER IT
Melt down status! Freaking out over a multitude of things. School is intense, not loving the kids and wanting summer back! Just got a hair cut, it was a fail. Frustrated... Wanted to hang out outside today but its like a million degrees, and I don't know who to hang with tonight or for the rest of the long weekend! I really want to find a group at school not just be friends with everyone but I don't know how.
I need to calm dooooowwwn. I was supposed to go to Yoga today... But that too was a fail. Maybe I'll go draw... or do hw.. or try to find someone to hang out with tonight . UGH
kay that was a pointless post. needed to get that out. Peace!

AJSHGJDKHGJK!
First day of school tomorrow! GROSS. Nervous and excited, but mostly nervous!
If you were wondering, I'm wearing black skinny jeans, a white lace tank top, olive green cardigan, and black flower print converse. Approve??
So! What ARE the essentials for back to school 2010?
A great manicure catches any eye. As always Chanel hits the target with their beautiful and long lasting colors. Love a cool 'greige' (grey and beige mix). Been around for a while, but this trend isn't going anywhere for some time!
Check out this shade:
Everyone needs a good pair of boots for Fall and I'm loving the combat style. Adds an edge to any outfit!
Recently invested in a pair of skinny jeans that fit really well and are comfortable and flattering. No matter what your style, everyone should find a pair of jeans that make them feel like a hundred bucks. Even if it costs a hundred bucks!
Kay, I need to go blow dry my hair.... Wish me luck! I'm gonna need it! sjgdsjhgjrnfbup

DEPRESSED
Definitely depressed because beautiful beautiful summer is coming to an end. Going back to school! Everyone's favorite activity.. I've had a great summer, but I feel like there is so much more I want to do. School starts in ten days, which means I have time to kill!... BUT NO FREAKING BODY TO TAKE ME WHERE I WANT TO GO.
Anyone have any ideas of must do's before school starts?? I need some kind of closure!
Not sure what it means to me to find my summer's 'perfect wave'. Camp wasn't so amazing, but I've been having a blast. Yet summer just hasn't left me fulfilled, you know?

For you non-surfers, what was your 'perfect wave' this summer?
That one special boy? -nope not me, I found no one :/
A new hobby developed?
Great times spent with your family and friends?
A new look?
Some great new buds?

I sort of feel like I don't have a typical summer, or a typical life in general. I kind of think of typical as what you see in the movies.. Like, a big high school, with all the usual clicks. Boring teachers, evil teachers, and those straight out crazy ones. A specific group of three you always hang out with. That one boy you've been crushing on forever that probably doesn't even know your name. Or being head cheerleader or home coming queen! A few siblings, average parents.
Summers spent on the beach with that one boy, your 'summer fling'. Days outside tanning painting your toe nails with your besties reading magazines and talking about boys. Popsicles and playing at the park.
I don't know why I don't feel typical. Maybe it's because I go to a Jewish private school, or maybe Los Angeles isn't such a typical place. Maybe it's because I have a twin sister, and I'm not set in a group of friends. Maybe I picture days spent swinging on trees and reading books in the shade of the leaves. But is that even real? I guess this is LA after all people. I see celebrities like its no big deal. The other day I was shopping on ventura blvd, and in TWO average stores people were filming for TV shoes. I was like, "Oh yeah I live in Los Angeles! I almost forgot!" Getting off topic but after all, I'm a California girl... ;)
Don't you wish they all could be California girls? I don't... So my friends, what does typical mean to you?

haii gurls haii! just kidding...
So, whats a young teenager doing blogging about life? I mean, how much life experience could she bring to the table?
Well, I'll tell you.
I'm an, I guess you could call me, 'average', teenager going to a private school in LA. I have great and loving parents, and a twin sister to join me on this ride I like to call life. :)
Well, I've tried writing a fashion and lifestyle (mostly fashion) blog before with my extremely stylish and fun friend Emma. Fun while it lasted, but my lack of commitment sort of marked that as a failure on my part. haha...
So anyway, its 2:18 in the morning and I can't sleep! Out of boredom, I got this great idea! Aren't you glad I did?
I think this idea actually came to me in part, through a conversation I was having in my head today. (Yeah I talk to myself.. What, you don't??) I was talking to my mom about school, and how I'm definitely not looking forward to my honors English teacher.. He's got some mixed reviews. Then I remembered my favorite thing! Essay writing! (sensing the sarcasm??) The writing we do in school is crap. Not to say it's not stimulating and challenging, trust me it is. But lets just say writing essays isn't my cup of tea. I realized, that I love to write, but I never have any motivation to write just for fun.
So hey, why not get a little practice writing about things I love!
Now why is it important that I practice my writing?? You're hearing from the future editor in chief of a lifestyle/fashion magazine. :D
So that's what this is, a young teenager's, personal lifetyle/fashion magazine...
